"CHArring holes for charity"
The Hollis-Haynes Ring of Fire Fundraiser is a hot sauce eating event in support of colorectal cancer research via the Alberta Cancer Foundation. Challenge yourself to a marathon of pain as you battle 10 hot wings (or cauliflower bites), each with a spicier sauce than the last, while raising money for colorectal cancer research in Alberta.

Donate
Not quite ready to scorch your sphincter? No worries. You can still support the Challengers and those with colon cancer by giving generously.
All proceeds from this event support The Alberta Cancer Foundation and are earmarked toward colon cancer research. As the fundraising partner for every cancer centre in Alberta, The Alberta Cancer Foundations works to make life better for Albertans facing cancer by supporting world-class research and patient care, right here in our own backyard.
How it Works
The Ring of Fire fundraiser is a hot sauce eating event, but the fundraising format is similar to any other charity walk or run...just with hot wings. Very hot wings. A marathon of pain, if you will. You can get all the event details here.
The general format is:
Challengers Register
Register and commit to eating 10 chicken hot sauces of increasing spiciness as well as fundraising for colon cancer research.
Fundraising Begins
Challengers set up their online fundraising page and gather pledges from friends and family members (which make up the donations to the Alberta Cancer Foundation).
Support
Those who are too chicken to challenge the sauces themselves can donate to the cause, or even buy tickets to come cheer on the challengers!
Face the Heat
On the evening of the event, the participants meet to challenge the sauces alongside a celebrity guest. The celeb will also be trying to keep their composure while being interviewed.
Why We Give a F*%K
And why you should too.
Colorectal cancer is the third most commonly diagnosed cancer in Canada and it is one of the leading causes of death from cancer for Canadians.
On average, 67 Canadians will be diagnosed with colorectal cancer every single day. That’s not okay.
